That’s the definition Webster’s gives you for Chambray. I would define Chambray as the hottest fabric in fashion right now. Similiar in appearance and versatility to denim, chambray can be used in anything: ties, shirts, chinos, shoes, dresses - whatever.
It can come in a heavyweight blend for F/W or with a lightness comparable to linen for summer. Keep an eye out for Chambray, it’s going to be the new plaid this year.
